OUR APPROACH
Old-school guiding, disciplined planning, zero surprises.
SFT Outfitters was built for hunters who want a straightforward, hard-working outfitter: clear expectations, honest communication, and a focused plan from arrival to last light. We do the prep, you hunt with confidence.
Today we guide serious sportsmen on well-managed hunts along the Santa Fe Trail region, coordinating access, timing, and logistics so your time in camp is spent hunting—not guessing. Ask about recommended gear, travel details, and best dates.
HUNT FAQ
Common questions about our guided hunts
What’s included in an SFT guided hunt?
Every hunt package is a little different, but you can expect experienced guiding, field support, access to our hunting areas, and help with shot setup and recovery. We’ll confirm what’s included for your specific hunt (lodging, meals, and transport) before you book.
What do I need to bring—rifle, gear, and clothing?
Bring your preferred legal firearm/bow, appropriate ammo, and the clothing layers that match the season. After you inquire, we’ll send a practical gear checklist based on your hunt type, terrain, and expected weather so you’re not over- or under-packed.
Do I need to be an expert hunter to book?
No. We work with a range of experience levels. The key is being safe, coachable, and prepared for the physical demands of the hunt. Tell us your background and fitness level, and we’ll recommend the best-fit option.
How do tags, licenses, and regulations work?
Licenses and tags are the hunter’s responsibility unless your package states otherwise. We’ll point you to the correct state resources, deadlines, and unit details, and we’ll help you understand what you need so you show up compliant and ready.
What’s the booking process and deposit policy?
Start by sending an inquiry with your preferred dates, group size, and hunt interest. We’ll confirm availability, answer questions, and outline pricing. Once you’re ready, a signed agreement and deposit holds your dates, with the remaining balance due before the hunt.
What happens after the harvest—field care and meat processing?
We’ll assist with recovery and basic field care, then coordinate next steps for transport and processing based on local options. Processing and taxidermy costs are typically separate, and we’ll help you plan ahead so nothing is rushed after a successful hunt.
